Great online photography magazine with a broad selection of different approaches. Besides that, there are also lots of services, like a call for entries- calendar and own curated exhibitions.

Fototazo –

Fototazo focuses on combining social giving and photography. Founded in 2011 by Tom Griggs, a photographer and educator based in Medellín and Philadelphia, the site supports emerging economically disadvantaged photographers from around the globe and brings exposure to their projects and their need to purchase equipment. Fototazo also provides portfolios of new work and in-depth interviews by selected contemporary photographers.


Great online resource for all kinds of artist and contemporary photography. Lst update was in Nov. 2011, I am not sure if it still exists, but the huge archive of posts is worth a visit.

Indie Photobook Library –

Founded by Larissa Leclair in 2010, the Indie Photobook Library is an archive of self-published and indie published photobooks. This includes DIY, photobooks independently published and distributed, photography exhibition catalogs, print-on-demand photobooks, artist books, zines, photobooks printed on newsprint, limited edition photobooks, and non-English language photography books, etc.

La Lettre de la Photographie –

Online magazine in French and English with a very global perspective. From their about page, “Available in English and French, La lettre is featured in the form of a “newsletter”, a web site and an iPad application to all audiences interested in photography”

Lay Flat –

Contemporary photography book publisher with an online component featuring artists and interviews. Founded by Shane Lavalette.

Lens Culture –

Online magazine done by Jim Casper. Updated not too frequent, but the posts always are extensive and try to approach in a very broad way. Besides that, there are also lots of activities like exhibitions, portfolio reviews and else.

Lost in Publications –

The self-description “Trying to bring structure to the immense amount of photo publications.” perfectly sums it up: a great resource if you are interested in any kind of published photography.

LPV magazine –

Dedicated to contemporary documentary and fine art photography. I really recommend subscribing to their weekly digest.

Mrs. Deane –

A lovingly written blog between contemporary photographers and artists working with photography as a medium. Lots of probably unknown projects by, sometimes combined in one post.

NY Times LENS Blog –

One of the best online sources for photography between photo journalism, conceptual photography and news photography.

PHOTO/arts Magazine –

A blog on photography as contemporary art, done by Christopher H. Paquette. Some of the featured pieces are conceptual, some classical, some documentary. Also contains reviews of exhibitions and art events.


Established in 2011 by Karol Liver, prism Magazine, acts just like its optical prototype, letting all kinds of photographic genres permeate its surface, get refracted, enter a new medium at a different angle and amuse the viewer with the palette of its constituent spectral colours. The magazine comes out every second month in hi-resolution PDF format and is distributed online free of charge.

The Great Leap Sideways –

The Great Leap Sideways – curated by Stanley Wolukau-Wanambwa – is an online gallery space primarily, but not exclusively, dedicated to showcasing photography. The site comprises small and extended surveys of work by contemporary photographers alongside extended interviews, features, videos and extracts from texts that illuminate the practise of photography and its wider context.

The Photography Post –

A perfect overall view on photography, it includes every kind of photography from artist works to fashion and advertising, as well as articles on the technical aspects.
